Once you have an innovation culture, even those who are not scientists or engineers – poets, actors, journalists – they, as communities, embrace the meaning of what it is to be scientifically literate. They embrace the concept of an innovation culture. They vote in ways that promote it. They don’t fight science and they don’t fight technology.– Neil deGrasse Tyson
About the author
My name is Kerry-Anne White and I am proudly South African. I am a scientist by qualification with an MSc in Chemistry (specifically Supramolecular Chemistry). At the moment I use this skill-set and apply it to a non-sciencey role in supply chain at a polymer film company. I am currently enrolled in a correspondence Cosmetic Chemistry course, so I am growing my knowledge every day. I enjoy learning and talking to people about science and technology and I think in a world where science is demonised, the best way to combat this is to make it more accessible to non-scientists.
